I bring a sense of clarity to complex engineering situations with a focus on the outcome, the context, and the team.
Employing a range of quality skills and experience.
My major strengths are analytical and lateral approaches to problem solving and I enjoy working in mixed discipline project teams. Key skill areas include: electro-optics, remote sensing and electronic systems I have extensive hands-on experience of hardware and process-development, manufacture, integration and test for use in complex environments, such as: space and industrial applications.
Experienced in systems roles within the electronics design groups. Managing the complex requirements from the SCMP-Land ICT project’s FPS into the a range of Secure Communications System ICT product designs. Operating from a thorough understanding of the ACMA ICT regulatory requirements (ACMA A-Tick/RCM) for the product range and being able to co-ordinate any required independent testing for verification to achieve compliance.
Worked in a range of environments from small, state-of-the-art projects through to remote and rural locations, for example working with the University of Sydney at the Molonglo Radio Observatory in an electronics engineering role on the SKAMP II upgrade project, part of the Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder program (2010-12).
I am an experienced Test & Evaluation Engineer working upon various Government Departments, such as Land 146 2B within the Tactical Information Exchange Integration Office (TIEIO-DMO 2007-09). Also within the Verification and Validation (V&V) aspects of the project, and VMF-TDL technology assessment within DMO engineering and procurement practices.
I offer experience in Australian Space Engineering, spanning from 1984, at Mt Stromlo Observatory RSAA/ANU, then within Auspace Ltd (Astrium, EADS), up to 2007 when the company’s space division was closed. Experience in roles across the sector from business development and technical assessment of remote sensing and electro-optical spectral instrument fields ranging from space borne hyperspectral instruments through to monitoring and verification techniques for atmospheric and subsoil (soil flux) of CO2, methane, hydrocarbons for greenhouse gas geosequestration
My projects have involved major international space agencies, space companies, Australian Government agencies and departments (such as Defence), and research organisations such as ANU Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA), CSIRO Exploration and Mining, the CRC for Satellite Systems and the CRC for Greenhouse Gas Technology. This has produced; deployed field monitoring instruments at the CO2CRC Otway Sequestration Demonstration Site (2007-2009), proposal & analysis of Differential Absorption LIDAR for CO2 and methane detection, reviewing CMT sensor development for CSIRO’s Phoenix-Thermal Hyperspectral Instrument proposal (2010).
